Reassuring my Wife

How old are you/your wife?

Does your wife work?

Are you a full-time trader or do you have other sources of income?

Just trying to understand the situation better.
 
My wife is very supportive of me trading as well. She makes good money and we don't have kids so I feel no pressure to bring home big bucks everyday. I would start small ($2000) and keep her in the loop with your p&L's.

And if his [the OP's] wife seriously doesn't want him to pursue a career as an indpendent trader, a career that can potentially allow him to free himself from the yoke of serfdom that this society would rather force upon him ...

A element of fear may be present with your wife and/or she thinks you may be surfing porn or the personals more than you are trading.
 
Married 20 years, 3 kids...i'm 50, went to college for history, became electrician instead/brother had the business and it was good money. Wife is an RN. Makes more than me now. I am not f/t trading- I'm not good enough - need some strategies. Lost a lot recently too - that is why i am here.

Sorry, I changed sides. Send the wife to MMA class and every time you mention pumping more money into your losing trading style, get her to use the rear naked choke on you.

You don't need to reassure your wife, you need to close this thread and go look at threads that will help you trade. Wife is correct... you have no grounds to argue.

I commend your attempts to plan ahead but not how you handle your wife's concerns. Now put real structure to your forward planning by learning how to trade - use search or manually go thru the forums until you get the help you need.
 
Have you notice that the wise men that "speak" are the ones that have been with ET for a while 2003, 2004 an etc, while the foolish men that give foolish ideas are the ones that just got on board with ET like this month or so and have like 1065 postings in the last two months.....

Your wife comes first, (family) then trading. She has the right to be concerned...a foolish wife would have NOT cared and not speak out - Your wife is speaking out....My I gently suggest that you take some money out that it will find no fault or hurt you or her in any form, way or shape and DO NOT quit your job! Wish you the best....always remember, a good wife will make a man or break a man....it seems that your wife is supportive
