Reagan --- Market Closed ??

Quote from FredBloggs:

I bet bush has got the dates wrong - just like hes got everything else wrong in his entire life.

Pretzel Mr bush?

LOLOLOL...yeah he really screwed up everything huh? You have to be a real screw up to be president of the United States of America.

I have been around long enough to know that the exchange has closed for every President's death since as long as I can remember.

It is a simple case of respect and unity. Grasso would not have even hesitated.

What is wrong with our leaders these days. Step to the plate and close the exchanges. Simple.

They must be struggling with the idea that they'll have to bump the CEO of some company that's celebrating their 10th anniversary of being listed on the NYSE if they close on Friday. :)

CBS Marketwatch says the NYSE announced that they would be closed on Friday - Nasdaq will have to close too - CME will likely close index futures trading too

U.S. Futures, Options Exchanges Close for Reagan's Funeral

By Ann Saphir
June 7 (Bloomberg) -- The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the
biggest U.S. futures market, the New York Mercantile Exchange and
the New York Board of Trade will join stock markets in closing on
Friday to mark the funeral of former President Ronald Reagan.
All six options markets -- Chicago Board Options Exchange,
the International Securities Exchange, the American Stock
Exchange, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the Pacific Exchange
and the Boston Options Exchange -- will also be closed, their
spokespeople said.
The Chicago Board of Trade, the second-biggest U.S. futures
market, is ``discussing'' closing, said spokeswoman Odyll Santos.
The Kansas City Board of Trade is ``working in concert with the
other exchanges'' and will announce a decision shortly, said
spokeswoman Shelia Summers.
Futures are agreements to buy or sell assets at a set date
and price. Options are the right to do so.

Can we please not turn this into a Pro-Bush vs. Anti-Bush thread???

I applaud the decision to make Friday a government holiday to remember a man who dutifully served his country and reminded us that it is great to be an American.
