He's an elderly hippie-looking male, who looks like he doesn't come from a business/finance background or have any experience in these areas.

Really, judging traders based on their looks now? Besides he is clean cut. Hippies are fiercely independent, not fear/greed driven, creative, patient, out of the box thinkers & lifestyle, street smart, and are naturals at being in synch with the flow. Qualities that make good traders. A lot of the technology you use today was created by hippies.

You are prob right. If he was counting profits we prob would have been the first to hear about it, right after his wife. I hope he is not living in a tent in the back yard subsisting on cherrios.
