Re-opening Schools in the era of COVID

Biggest online advocate of keeping schools closed goes in secret to enroll his kids into school. If he truly believed the crap he shovels, would he do this?

This fall the COVID positive test rate was well below 5% in Austria -- as per EU standards it was safe for Austria to open schools for in-person learning. Schools in most countries in Europe were open all the way until December when the COVID positive test rate in most countries rose above 5% -- triggering their closure.

This fall in the U.S. -- the COVID positive test rate was well above 5% in nearly every state. As per the standards promoted by the WHO / EU / CDC at that time the schools in the U.S. should jot have been open for in-person learning.

So -- basically you are criticizing a parent for moving to a country where schools are safely opened in a manner aligned to global public health standards.

I'm not criticizing a parent for anything. I'm laughing at the hypocrisy of someone who was the biggest advocate for keeping people from sending their kids to school, and then quietly goes and does it himself. If it was truly about the 5% positive test rate (it wasn't) then why didn't he just say that all along? Why didn't he make the public statement that "since the US can't keep its positive rate below 5%, I am forced to move to Austria where it IS below 5%...etc"...because that wasn't what it was about. And that's why it's funny.

Rules for thee, not for me.

So a parent is an advocate that children should only be sent to school when prevailing community COVID levels are low and school safety measures are put in place — takes their child and places them in a school that is operating safely as per international public health standards. Yet somehow you see hypocrisy in this.

Yes, I do. Because that wasn't really the nature of his advocacy.

And because he silently slipped away without stating why. If it was as you said, he could easily have explained his reasoning. He never did.

Can you show where he tweeted that he was moving to Austria to put his kids in school because it met with acceptable requirements? Should be easy to find if it is "all over twitter".
