RBG passed

There are no predictable issues over the election that will go to the Supreme Court..that is just the hyperbole being spread to make people scared. Whoever wins will win cleanly with no close ties like in Bush v. Gore.

Even so, the court is 8 justices with 5 conservatives and 3 liberals I believe. RBG's death only swung the balance of power more in conservatives court so to speak...

The political bent of a judge should play no part in their decisions in any case. That is why Lady Justice is blindfolded. No prejudice.

With that in mind, assuming the people on the highest bench in the land can truly engage the ultra-high intellect required to perform their jobs, then we need number 9, in case the court gets a split decision. That cannot stand...It would disrupt the whole process.

In truth, the only people who should be a judge on any level is anyone who can think like a robot, or Commander Data. Complete objectivity is required. Alas, there are very few humans who have that level of control over their own ego.

Abortion ceased to be an issue in Canada a long time ago. Why do so many Americans refuse to move forward as the world progresses ? If the US believes in individual rights and freedoms, it shouldn't care if a religious minority with extreme ideas wants to impose it's will on women who don't believe the same things. So the real question is why all the persistence to try move backwards seems to be an endless battle with no winners. So much so that some would rather stack the Supreme Court rather then let it be what it is supposed to be.

I'm sure there are people who support making abortion illegal in Canada. Its a certainty. The legal issue may be settled, but its also settled here. No one is about to overturn RvW. That's just scaremongering.

Might be some revisiting of things like the alleged Right to Infanticide though.

It used to be that the lefties argued that the embryo or fetus was just a clump of cells or a part of the woman's body. Now they are off to arguing - along with scumbags like the Governor of Virginia- that a baby born alive can still be snuffed out because the new boyfriend doesn;t like kids. Killing a baby who has been born alive because it is a risk to the mother's health or life is not a particularly zippy argument either.

Oh, and I hate to go constitutional on folks here twice in the same day, but last time I checked the Constitution, a baby born alive was known as "an American citizen" subject to protections and benefits inherent therein, not subject to what the mother and her boyfriend might want. What's next? The mother gets a free-look period through kingergarten to see if it is a keeper or not?

Okay. I will not say more. Most likely I won't say less either.

Sorry, don't agree one bit. RvW is used to get the Left up like "seize all your guns" gets up the Right.
