I fucking hate avocado.. but I live in a avocado obsessed nation. :)

This is "typico" breakfast here. Swap the gun for a machete.

Is the gun there to move things along if the bacon is too slow-acting?
OT, but there's one more reason I've always appreciated you... might as well throw it out now...you are proof (you posted a pic of yourself) that a washboard stomach and the body of a 20yo can still be had as one approaches/reaches what heretofore for me was considered "old age". As crazy as this sounds, its been an inspiration for me at the gym.

Except for the sausage (there's never a good reason to eat sausage), the plate looks pretty good. What's the stuff in the middle, and the two brown things flanking the rest?

It's not actually that bad, better than a full Irish. They often have black pudding as well "blood sausage" and are ways disappointed to hear no, you did not invent that.

Shredded pork in the middle. There is a heart clogging slab of that fried pork as well. Fried banana.. They make horrible sausages here, big chunky lumps of gristle chorizo style. I make my own, whenever people notice the meat grinder in the kitchen I say 'for my enemies'.

There isn't enough time for Republicans to get this done by election day even if they had the votes, and they don't have the votes under the circumstances.
Best they can hope for is Trump wins big, they hold the senate. In that case we see a confirmation by years end with Democrats doing the business and usual whining about it.
Worst case scenario is Biden wins, Democrats take the Senate and a leftist Judge replaces a leftist judge. Yawn, the world keeps spinning.
The more likely scenario is Trump wins a razor thin victory, Republicans lose a couple seats in the Senate and it's a fever pitched battle for months, even years before the seat is filled.
Bottom line, this ain't happening before the election.
A 42 day appointment was a long time ago in a very different world. Can't see that in 2020 politics.
Romney and Murkowski are absolute no. Collins is a solid 90 percent no. There are at least 3 to 4 fence sitters. What that means is uncertain outcome and Mitch won't bring a vote to the floor without absolute certainty. To risk losing the vote on the floor pre election would have devastating consequences across the board.
The court is now at 8 but isn't necessarily an even split. Only 3 are lockstep left. Yes, it could all get very messy and some ugly consequences may result. It's 2020, so expect abject stupidity to reign supreme.
Finally, Mitch and his gang boxed themselves in with the way they handled Garland in 2016. People can twist themselves up like a pretzel saying this is different, but it's hypocrisy any way you slice it. I think the best move politically and ethically is to wait until after the election. It's the right thing to do. Besides, this train goes off the rails next year regardless of who wins, so get yourself ready for some ugly times.

quit trying to play down the fact that the GOP are anything but a bunch of hypocrites with zero principles:

Days until election: 46
Days until senate inauguration: 107
Days until presidential inauguration: 124

Days between nomination and confirmation
Kavanaugh: 89
Gorsuch: 66
Kagan: 87
Sotomayor: 66
Alito: 82
Roberts: 62
Breyer: 73
Ginsburg: 50
Thomas: 99

Thanks, that’s kind of you to say. But what's this shit about "old age?"

Various flies in the ointment beginning to surface. A lot of moving parts in this appointment scenario. I mean even by DC standards.

The Arizona Republic is reporting that if Democratic Senate candidate Mark Kelly wins a November 3 special election against GOP Sen. Martha McSally, he could be sworn-in as soon as November 30, meaning the balance of power in the Senate would shift from the current 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats to 52 Republicans and 48 Democrats.

Whoa. It looks more appetizing than it sounds. That's a lot of (saturated) fat on your plate. I hope you know what you're doing. I'll just have the beans and the egg, and maybe the avocado. (Although I don't remember ever even tasting avocado.) And maybe what looks like a baked potato. But hold the white rice; come on, you can afford brown. :D
