Randy Johnson throws perfect game!

Quote from Maverick74:

Well he is bar none the most intimidating pitcher in baseball. I would not want to have that guy staring me down before he unleashes his fastball.

I can't imagine hitting a 98 mph fastball released from a guy that's 6'11'' or whatever he is...

I'd just be praying he didn't hit me in the neck or the kidney or something. Of course, he wouldn't do that cuzz he could dot an i from 90 feet!

I know nobody on ET watches sports but this will fall under the historical category too for you history buffs out there. Randy Johnson thew only the 17th perfect game in MLB history tonight against the Braves at the age of 40 years old. He is also the oldest pitcher to have a perfect game.

Now if this wasn't enough, he only went to a 3 ball count on one batter, struck out 13 and became one of only 5 pitchers to throw no hitters in both the national and American league.

Pretty amazing!

Unbelievable feat....but i bet no pitcher in the history of baseball has ever done what he did 2-3 years ago.....since you watch lots of sports can you please name this feat??? do all the gooogleizing you want

So what exactly is this question. What feat did Randy Johnson accomplish 2 to 3 years ago? Or any pitcher?

I think he either hit two home runs in a game or set a record for most number of hit batsmen. I'll go with the later.

Off the subject a little: did you guys know that the fastest recorded fastball was Nolan Ryan's 100.9 mpher? Randy Johnson is one of the few guys (along with Walter Johnson, Bob Feller, Rob Dibble and current pitchers Billy Koch, Robb Nen and Mark Wohlers) thought to throw over 100 mph.
