Yeah, I've got a gardener, who reseeded the back lawn.

But between the rabbits and grass seed-killing birds, it's still dirt.

I've told my gardener that he doesn't need to do the back for a month now.

I just don't have the heart to let him see the carnage.

The real Lucas McCain of my backyard was my beloved cat.

We lost him about a year ago.

While he was around, I'd find a rabbit carcass back there every once in a while. And plenty of birds and little rodents that he mutilated.

But he kept the peace.

The little sadist loved to eat their brains.

Every once in a while, if I wasn't paying attention, he'd come in and throw up all that stuff on my carpet.

There was a sign posted at my local park that said "found rabbit - near the high school" and gave a phone number.

I snickered at that sign. This town is overrun with rabbits.

Who hasn't "found" a rabbit.

It's incredible to think of one's ancestors living in trees, walking naked through the forest and starting fires by rubbing two sticks together.

But shit happens when my grandparents hit the gin.

Well, I drive a 6 year old Ford Fusion, so no it wasn't me.

And I have to say what a damb good car it is. I bought it new and have not had a single problem with it. In fact, it starts and runs just like it did the day I bought it. I never had that in any of the previous cars I've owned. I remember the 1982 Ford Mustang I used to have. That thing's performance would start declining the day after a tune up and would get progressively worse until three months later I had to work on it again.
