regarding "You didn't build that."

I'm trying to rethink a different approach and how we can make this slogan the gold standard.

A private sector entrpreneur would have a tough time swallowing this bullshid but a public sector civil servant morphs into this line of thinking soon after realizing he doesn't need deoderant while employeed by the state because it's a no sweat job.

There are other examples but this one comes to mind.

Cigarettes and cigarette taxes.

This is a product where the gov't makes more money on the product than anyone "who built it". So yes, gov't logic "they didn't build it"

What a slap in the face to the cos that make a product or provide a service and the gov't can waltz in and claim a bigger share of revenue that the worker bees and the risk takers provide.

Every gov't pig at the revenue trough is looking for the next cigarette to tax.

Well you know guys......if someone put a gun to my head and said pick the prez....I gotta put my money on obama.

I met with my go to guy....Reluctantly I asked the question.... I knew I wouldn't like the answer....doesn't matter our method or background except we are different.....He says it's Obama.

Everyday we look in the paper, see real people in action and say "How can people be so fuckin dumb"......

I think we are about to find out...(sigh) again.....

And I thought I was your go to guy. :p
Your go to guy must have been listening to me.
I been saying this all along.
But, looks like the polls are starting to say that I am going to be wrong.
I hope so.

Last night at the bar, the bartender asked me and most everyone else who came in if they were scared or nervous about the election. He is afraid that Obama is going to lose, and I assume that he assumes that most people feel the same way, and he is probably judging that by all the people he comes into contact with.

Gallup is showing Romney pulling ahead in their likely voter's poll. All the others are too close to call. I get the feeling that this election will end up in a courtroom.

Had a great day today, got oodles of stuff done! Now it's time to get ready for dinner and drinks.

What do you guys think about this $250 laptop: http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/19/tech/mobile/new-google-chromebook/index.html?hpt=hp_t3 It's made by Google, it's called a Chromebook. It's small, but it has a keyboard. I have a monster 17 inch laptop because I need to work, a lot of typing and I also have a stock market databank on my hard drive. So I don't know if something that small would work for me, but at $250 what the hell do you have to lose by trying it?

Brother Hugh, ask yourself these three questions:
1. What can a chromebook do that my laptop can't do?
2. What can my laptop do that a chromebook can't do?
3. Would the $250 be better spent on a chromebook or donated to feed some hungry dogs?

I'm always looking for better and cheaper ways to do things. Well, as of the last year I've been on the lookout, ever since I noticed all the smart phones. To me, computers and the internet are new, even though I've been on the internet since 1996. It had such a huge impact on me, it just kept feeling new.

A smart phone transfers data many times faster than my laptop and home wifi connection, so I'm feeling inadequate and left behind.

Someone laughed at me a few weeks ago when I pulled out my old flip phone.

If you have to do actual work, I don't see a replacement for a laptop.

Raining outside, staying home, sipping wine, going to try to get some writing done.

I just finished reading a novel called Flight by Jan Burke. The villain is a mad bomber who documents everything he does meticulously in diaries. He has outwitted the police for many years and he thinks of himself as quite smart. Anyway, I'm going to try to be a little more like that insane yet successful bomber by meticulously writing down my daily activities and lessons until I can perfect the things that are important to me - trading, writing, working out, learning new languages.

Year of the day: 1965.

My dog ran away that year on the 4th of July weekend. His name was sparky. I replaced him with a pigeon. He was a brown and white "hi-flyer" racing pigeon. My grandfather raced pigeons. He won some major trophies in the Detroit area.

I stopped by his place one saturday afternoon when I was about 8 years old and he was prepping some pigeons for the cooking pot. He's slit their throat and throw them in a bucket. I seen my feathered friends in the bucket, not moving and that was when I got my fear of blood. Yuk, I passed right out......
