Random

Quote from BSAM:

Do you have your uniform on?

my grammar school football helmet and of course 3 layers of tin foil underneath. Not to harp on this but it is an interesting exercise in randomness. :p

Is one actually able to decipher extreme randomness?
Isn't randomness one of those things in life that makes for some fun?
Could your OCD be driving your urge to understand?

My OCD is always driving my urge to understand! It is why I have been successful at trading.

As I said, I left open the opportunity of it being random, but I could not exclude the possibility of it being a metaphor.

One could argue that Caret Browsing let's one get to the heart of the matter, without having to include all the bravado of the advertising you normally would have to include in your "Ctrl+C". It could be that it was a call for less showmanship and more substance.

Another possibility would be that these crooked politicians can't give a straight answer (how's that for a pun?). Just as one is trying to only highlight the text on the left (alas, it just won't work without Caret Browsing), one would wish that the candidates could answer the questions asked - instead of trying to insert their prepared propaganda. Which sometimes does not seem to have anything to do with the actual question.

But then again, I have a tendency to overthink things...

What year will college football become the pro minor league? Why should the broadcasters and universities get all the money?

Indeed! It is modern slavery...

I actually posted numbers from random.org several months ago. Thus I would argue that this is not technically random; It might qualify as a non-random pattern...

Quote from Lucrum:

Sometimes I think my thoughts are not random enough to participate in this thread.

Just take a piece of all your thoughts and mesh them together. This should ensure complete randomness...

Quote from BSAM:

Has a female ever posted in the random thread? This site has got to be 999 out of a thousand, male.

Yes. A (supposedly) female poster told me to travel the world in this very thread. It can't be more than 4 or 5 months ago. I understand that this does not affect your hypothesis regarding the male/female ratio of this site.

Quote from BSAM:

Okay enough of the trading, politics, and funny business.
Let me ask my fellow members a serious question.
Had you rather have a Snickers candy bar or a Snickers ice cream bar?
I think I'm gonna have to go with the ice cream version.

I haven't eaten a Snickers ice cream bar in 13-14 years. I definitely prefer the ice cream version. I was actually a big consumer of Japp ice cream bars back then. Japp is similar to Mars, but vastly better tasting. The Mars bar is a little soft, I think. But back to the pressing issue of Snickers: Why on earth did someone think putting salty peanuts in a chocolate was a good idea? It is only edible when frozen, as it numbs my taste buds just enough to keep it down...

Quote from Kassz007:

It is a strange one, to be sure. But millions of Americans love it, so there must be something to it that I'm missing. F1 is big in Europe on the other hand. Many complain about F1 being a "sport" as well for other reasons. To each his own.

At least F1 drivers have to be able to turn both ways...
