There has never been a time and never will be that govts won't use everything available to them to spy on, control citizens. FBI's Hoover had files on the Beatles and Marilyn Monroe. What I would have missed on is the blatant control over govt by corporations. I.E. what a corp like Monsanto is getting away with, using us all for lab rats, or what's going down with ACA and insurance cos.
I think just not wanting to believe it could get so blatant formed that bias. Quite a stupid naivete on my behalf since it's been mentioned down through history,. I just thought we had something better. The leashes are on the wrong people.

A decade ago not even a possibilty for this to happen would have been my thought, with this guy there's a possibility, not a probability.... yet. The best device is a time of great uncertainty , being in the middle of a war qualifies, the FDR model. The fact that there will probaly be no serious competition for the office will help immensely.
