Ouch.
The problem with a large security apparatus is the same as the problem with the IRS. It can and will be used by the executive branch as a blunt instrument against political opponents both individual and large organizations. We can see it happening with the IRS but we cannot see the machinations of the security agencies.
I don't wish to offend anyone here who supports Rand Paul by being dismissive of his candidacy but there are things about him I have noticed and I believe they make him vulnerable to the same apparatus he appears to be fighting. There are data points and they seem to connect. You should put on your tinfoil hat now before reading the rest of this post lol.
Rand Paul is an ophthalmologist. If you look carefully at his face you can perhaps see his eyes bulging somewhat in their sockets implying high ocular pressure, i.e., glaucoma. Verbal references by Rand Paul during his college years to "the water Buddha" suggest marijuana use which is known to ease ocular pressure and prevent permanent eye damage due to glaucoma.
It is one thing to have used pot as a kid and to fully disclose that use as Barrack Obama has done. It is quite another thing to continue to use pot as an adult in a position of great power. I would not be surprised if he ends up being outed by the same agencies he is at war with. You may now remove your tinfoil hat safely.
