RAM Question?

I have a question about what RAM to get in my new computer.

My options are 2, 3, and 4 GB.

They are all DDr SDRAM 800 MHz.

The 2 GB is defualt.
+$70 to go up to 3GB
+$150 to go up to 4GB

I read something about even numbers in RAM. Will getting 3GB be bad in any way?

i originally had 1 GB, added 2 GB more, works fine.somehow i have this feeling like you buying DELL. 70$ for 1GB is kind of expensive you can get cheaper on ebay or newegg .no more then 50- 60$ for 2 GB
