Raise capital for algorithmic trading?

Two Sigma has a program for managing external capital, but it's a process. If you already have at least six months of backtesting results, that's a start. First, you have to pass a fairly rigorous interview, but then if they can validate your results as acceptable, you may proceed to a live test round. DM me if you're interested or need a contact.

This is algorithmic trading, it should be expected to run and calculate it's performance on historical data. What other "backtesting results" are needed? I am sure the potential serious clients like fund managers would want to know more algorithm itself than it's past 6 months results.

Usually, they want to steal the algorithm:finger:..If you find any profitable pattern, please keep it a secret. Do not tell them any hard rules or causation that you discover.

If you are good at trading, just get loans from friends & family and pay them interest (something around 6-7% is reasonable).

Don't ever try to profit split or manage money, it is a pain in the ass to deal with clients and you will make less than trading for yourself unless you can raise like 10MM+ (good luck without an extensive track record). You could even get in trouble for running an unregulated fund depending where you live.

Dear God no....

Lol. Congrats on all the likes for this post, but I suspect many of them are from unprofitable traders.

Some of us run sharpe ratios in the 5+ or even 10+ range. This is algorithmic trading we're talking about here. For those with a strong edge, loans are highly recommended as it is win win for all involved and much simpler than any kind of money management set up.
