Anyone who has every read Othello knows racism or at least serious racial tension existed long before Shakespeare highlighted it in 1603.
The comment above also reminded me of the trials of Shylock the Jewish Banker in the Merchant of Venice.
I note... I need a google search... there are plenty of articles on the net from lefties actually claiming racism started in America because of slavery.
That anyone would not immediately laugh at them shows how dumbed down our education is today. I don't think my kids have ever had the pleasure of studying Shakespeare.
When I was kid... we read Shakespeare in 4th grade, 6th grade, and middle school. Our teachers actually taught us real stuff. Nobody could get away with blaming racism on the US because we were not ignorant of history we used to learn real history in public schools.
