QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

When a stock gaps overnight/morning that particular stock does not intraday data ex. MAKO It's just blank and with yellow volume bars but the pressure thing moves. I have tried clearing the chart data but it still doesn't work.

The attached picture is what i'm talking about.

Sounds like you're clearing ALL the data...If you're using 10 days of intra-day data, clear 5, then 4, and you'll be left with today's data. (Tomorrow, do the same, except 3, etc. etc.) (I use 20 days, so I had to clear 5, 5, 5, 4).

Also, not seeing the other problems you're having, though I'm using IQFeed.

@dontevergiveup

We don't have a beta program for MT yet. will soon

As for QT blank chart, go to OPTIONS/Edit Preferences menu, CHARTS tab, MISC sub-tab and set the Spike Filter to 100% (upper right corner)

That worked and so much easier! (Actually thought I had my spike filter set to 100%, but was at only 30%).

:)

Jerry, do you have new QT version after 3.9.8a? Will it run at Windows 8 or Win7 for the new?

I wonder if you have a platform for general announcement, or new version explanation? How about use the old QT website? It's quite difficult to catch each important, commonly wanted message about QT development and debugs.

Jason,

I don't have any QT version - I am no longer with TD Ameritrade and QuoteTracker, and therefore I have no control over QuoteTracker website, so cannot use that for anything, including announcements. Mike and I are developing Medved Trader completely from scratch.

QT will work on Windows 7 and Windows 8, though I think on Windows 8 you may need to explicitly run it as Administrator if installed in default location. Alternately, you can just install it in C:\QT and then there won't be any need for the Admin.

You can follow us on our Google+ or Facebook pages if you wish to get updates

I switched off IQ feed and stayed with IB, yeah I know its not the best, but I'm used to it.

However, now my favorite historical chart based on S&P 500 has disappeared, all chlines and annotations are gone, splat, that chart does not come back after 16 years of sweat.

I did this a few months and years ago,but the only way to get it back was by switching back to IQ feed, restart, and hey presto - the old son of a gun pops up and refreshes up to date. Without IQ the chart does not appear!?!

The question is , how can I get the old chart for GLOBEX:@ES# (which I used before) using IB as a back fill, and what is the correct symbol for it, ? GLOBEX:@SPX ?

Not too sure why that chart disappears just by turning on/off IQ but now I'd like to find the original chart using IB's feed - even if I have to keep IB running 24/24,

sooo, can edit something and get it back ? which file should I edit while still retaining the correct chlines and data info from way back when QT didn't even have paintbars!!

Frustrated, any help would be great

Regards

Simon

Simon,

IQFeed and IB do not use the same symbols, though QT is setup to do conversions between most common ones, like the GLOBEX@ES...

IQFeed supports continuous symbols (ES#) while IB does not. So GLOBEX:@ES# will NOT work with IB.

if you previously used GLOBEX:@ES# and bring it up now, the old data should still come up - QT does not automatically clear it. What you can do is bring up that chart, then right click select Backfill As option and specify GLOBEX:@ESZ3 or whatever the current IB symbol is. QT will remember that and use it for future auto backfills. You would have to manually change it whenever the front month changes.
