A time and sales style window , with filtering, for size, etc. Maybe some color coding and filtering for X cent or % move within X seconds.
No reason QT cant have more sophisticated scanning features, with cpu power being what it is now. It can do some scanning now, but mostly limited to charts that are live, not the universe of symbols you might be looking at.
The old soes boxes showed the entire market in that format, so you could see where the action was. If you ever saw the Watcher in action, every time there was a quote change on Nasdaq, a color coded line would print. In those days, a quote change meant something.
Unless you are watching only a very few symbols, its a lot of work on the eye to catch movement, if you only have to look in one spot, it's much easier and you're less likely to miss things.
