QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

Good to hear about a project in the works. I have to use QT on Snapshot - it's broken for me again on TDA streamer. When it does work, quote feeds are pretty slow. The basic software is fine - I just need a reliable quote feed.
 
Anyone has problems today (Dec 17, 2012) with Ameritrade streaming? I never had so many problems before as today. Quote streaming is keep slowing down or stopping and it is keep bouncing form one streaming server to another.

Anyone has similar experience and any remedy? Darn ameritrade!

216.105.251.37 - is server I like/use it the most but today I can't have set it to stream from it. Seconds later when I pick it from drop down menu it is moved to another streamer....
 
do you have 2 copies of QT or something else running with the same account? it sounds like the connection is getting kicked off because of another connection with the same login
 
Yes I do, running options on one computer and equities on another one. It worked so far and it is working now. So it is not good idea to do it this way? I really like it :-)

Can I use one server for one computer and another server for another computer or is it one user/account the problem?

I am also having problems today with the streaming TDA feed on all servers. Never seen this type of problem in 14 years or so of using Quotetracker. 14 years being back to the days of "Free Real Time Quotes" snafu. TDA quotes will update for maybe 15 or so seconds and stop for 15 or so seconds. It stops and starts at the same time for all symbols including the high volume SPY. I have the same programs running I have always had running. Figured the servers were taking a early holiday vacation.
 
Velenje, basically, QT detects disconnects and automatically reconnects, switching servers if needed. Normally if you have 2 instances running, they will automatically adjust so one is on one server and the other is on the other. But if you have more instances running than there are server IPs for TDA servers, or if for some reason there is a problem accessing one of the IPs, then having the 2 instances running at the same time would cause a problem.

If you see constant reconnects, try shutting down one of the QT instances.

I don't see any issues here, though I really wasn't looking that closely.

Big problems this morning - streaming quotes were 10 minutes behind real-time. I only noticed it because index quotes were correct. I'm back on snapshot quotes.
 
starting Monday, Interactive brokers backfill for futures volume charts prints lines with no data. I have tried all iterations of clearing the chart and backfilling with real time data feed stopped, not stopped, etc. Time charts backfill ok.

Thank you Jerry for all your help. I've been using QT since 2001. I've tried so many other charting platforms yet will continue to use QT until you release your new platform. I am hoping you will make the new one like NT where users can do backtest and do automation.

this happens around symbol rollover. Their cumulative volume data does not match the backfill volume data, causing the volume spikes. Been going on for years. nothing can be done about it. It usually calms down after a week or so.
