First off, you can just copy the QT folder to the new computer and create a shortcut for STOCKS.EXE

Alternately, you can download qtsetup.exe (regular install) from the quotetracker web site
http://www.quotetracker.com/download/qtsetup.exe

and then you will be able to install it whenever you want

The patch contains just the files that need updating. It is not the full program. You do have to do a regular install first.
 
But I would think that TDA is going to make the QT website unavailable to non TDA customers starting 9/4. Or are you saying people can still download the old registered copy, but it just won't work unless you are a TDA customer? I suppose we will know Tuesday.

Update: Just went to copy to the DVD/CD drive. A box popped up saying that some "thumbs" might be lost if I continue. What are these thumbs?
 
I HIGHLY doubt they will make the web site only available to TDA users. That would require a bunch of work, which I am quite sure they do not want to devote resources to. But if you want to download and save the file now, you can do that.

thumbs.... don't worry about that. Ignore it.
 
QT has stoped backfiil data from IB at 10:30 (Futuers data - ES )
I'd like to know if this has happen to anybody else?

I wonder if the cause is because the CME Futures market is closed from 10:30AM until 5:00PM central time today? Holiday hours. I bet that the backfill will begin to work again late this afternoon. You will not get backfill data when the market is closed, Eval. There is no data. And, welcome to the board. I see this is your first post.

In my timezone it worked until 11:30
and i saw the futures market in IB platform for another hour after QT has stopped backfill

In the future google "CME Holiday Hours" and you can see the schedule for when things stop and start.
 
Hey. I downloaded a fresh copy of 3.9.8 from the QT website, and they no longer have the option of "Quote source" for MB Trading in the upper right hand corner. Then I got some error box stating that US based brokers for the quote source must have a registered copy. Seems like they are pushing out the competition.
 
Also found a download for the 3.9.7, which also works with the patch.
Still shows MB Trading. Bailing wire and chewing gum to keep this thing working.
