QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

Jerry,

As you know, my brother is still using Quotetracker and piping in the historical DAILY backfill data from Yahoo.

About a month ago, he noticed that QT was "duping" the LAST Daily Bar. Even crazier, was the fact that the two bars often had different high/lows and closes... but they both were marked with the SAME date.

And when he would go into the tab to "clear chart data" and reload the historical, it would fix the prior days error, but it would NOT correct the CURRENT day.

Have you heard of this happening to anyone else before?
Any fix for this?

PS. He has a 9-5 job during the day, so he isn't even in front of his Quotetracker during market hours.
Thus, this issue appears to have come from "out of the blue".

Thanks.

:)

I'm not speaking for Jerry, but I know for a fact (from past experience) that Yahoo historical data has a bug where it spits out duplicates for the last day and those "duplicates" are slightly different in terms of prices. I don't use Quotetracker so I don't know if it can filter the bad data out or not.

the patch is separate. It is at http://www65.zippyshare.com/v/77716919/file.html

and you just extract the contents of that zip file into the Quotetracker folder, overwriting the existing files (QT should be closed)

I am really not that clever. I donot know how to extract the contents of that zip file into QT folder. Cant you just give a simple download? Thanks

It is very simple. After you download the patch, the pop up box asks you to unzip the file. Just click on it. Then it will ask you were do you want to install the patch. Click on the drop down menu. Find your "C" drive and then program files. Open up the program files and there is "Quotetracker". Click Quotetracker and then click for the patch files to go to that program. Click, and it takes about 1 second.

Done.

Hey Jerry, I was wondering something about QT... will QT send email alerts if a stock crosses a price alert when QT is not currently running? I have an email alert setup to my phone and was wondering if I had to keep QT and my computer running in order for the alert to work?

Jerry,

sorry to bother you again, but I am getting a problem with a lot of negative volume entries which show up as huge spikes of volume on the intraday chart.

It occurs while im streaming the quotes, and when i clear the chart and backfill over the bad volume data, it seems to correct itself for the previous data, but then as i stream more quotes negative volume once again starts to appear on the raw data (the negative volume spikes are usually accompanied by large positive volume spikes shortly before).

Any ideas? Is this TDA's crappy API sending bad data?
