what symbol do i have to use for 30 industrial if i Hist. backfill with yahoo?

i lost it and i dont recall it anymore!!!

for Yahoo symbols, just go to the relevant yahoo finance page to find them. For the Dow it's ^DJI for ex.

Anyone has this problem with QT, backfill now works since I downloaded the patch but around the end of the equity session, it's like QT resets and I lose all data for the day, it starts with stock symbols then all symbols. Every day I have to backfill at the start of the session. And btw Yahoo hist- backfill doesn't work for me .

I already tried w ^DJI but it doesnt work. Anyway it's only from today because on the past days i didnt have any problems...

Yahoo symbol for 30 industriald is ^DJI. In the past, Yahoo sometimes had issues backfilling the last day.. Try switching to BigCharts for the historical backfill

As for losing the data, no idea.

I have been having issues with QT using TDameritrade as feed. It goes for a few minutes then it loses the feed for another few minutes. Just keeps happening over and over again, anyone know how to solve this?
 
I have feed problems from time to time with Ameritrade streamer - I switch to static quotes when it goes down for more than a few minutes. I also have problems with it not getting the right closing price from the day before and the change numbers are off. I'm not sure how to fix that.

It's free and times are tough for brokers.

I also have these problems. I wonder if anyone has solved this
 
the problem may be that the server IP list in the TDA configuration file in QT is outdated. The two server IPs that are currently in the DNS for TDA streaming servers are not even in the list.

Quick solution - switch the TDA server selection to "ameritrade02.streamer.com" (that should be the topmost one)

[EDIT] the above applies to people NOT using the patched version of QT. The patched version seems to have an updated server list.
