The "dynamic table" I posted (with a few tiny charts per symblol) is one of the examples that come with the sowftware. I have created similar charts from scrtach. You can configure every cell (or every column, if you wish) separately to contain a price or a micro-chart.. or a one of the other options.

The content of each cell is selected from a list. So, you can have 14-minute micro-chart instead of 15-minute micro-chart (if you wish) but you cannot have a bar micro-chart instead of a candelstick micro-chart (as far as I can tell from my experience anyway).

Like what you expect from a table you can resize every row and every column. You can also change the size of the window so that it fits all the rows and columns.

I don't think you can add a micro "Bar chart" (that's what a volume chart would look like). However, you can show an indicator as cadlestics, which includes volume.

Does any of the other software have a similar kind of portfolio window where you can manually type in 'ghost' positions with the Qty of shares, the price Paid, and it will then show the Gain %?

Also, which software has the most similar type of thing to Quotetracker's paintbar alerts?

I think Microsoft Excel is the best for this purpose.

Are there other trading software with inline mini charts like QT. These are intraday mini charts that match the regular chart.

I am starting to test drive NinjaTrader as a replacement. Not as many current features, or as easy to program as QuoteTracker; but it does accept custom software extensions/indicators and strategies. I have worked with NT7 for the last week and have about 60% of my core screens rebuilt.

LINUX

I hadn't realized you could use qt with linux.

How many linux qt users are there out there? And which brokers are they using.

Over at the Sierra Chart message board theres been an effort to increase compatibility with linux going on for a while and the SC boys seem willing to create a "Linux Compatible" version to run with a limited number of broker/feeds.

Is there any interest here that might increase enthusiasm for the commitment required to move to and support linux?

I have used QT with Linux, and traded with IB.
Both of them work without any issues on Linux.

Some years ago I read Jerry Medved writing on a forum, that as long as he would be involved with QT; it would always run on Linux (but only through wine). Unfortunately enough he is not involved there any more...

Sierra Chart also works on linux, except for some functions that heavly depend on some .Net functions that are still not compatible with wine.

I have had a look at Sierra more than once within the last some years, but they have never seemed to be committed to produce a really compatible version with Linux or wine.

This is one of the reasons (but not the only one) I decided for AmiBroker in the end.
AB is still not 100% compatible, but almost there.
And it has some really good and powerful features.

Now a SC committed to 100% compatibility would be interesting, but I doubt they would ever do it. It is just too much hassle to replace those incompatible .Net functions.
