QuoteTracker having mini seizures...

When you have issues....also check your datafeed by running a tracert command to your data servers....

Also issues can be internet based....and you may experiment with various numbers of watchlists, etc...

Sometimes when I have hesitancies....it is data feed/internet issues....

I often see those ****** on the tracert....
I don't think this is the problem, because the data feed itself seems to be fine. Prices update and move normally. It is the function of the QT program that is impaired. For instance, why would an internet/data feed problem affect the ability to draw a trend line?

But I will keep this in mind, and phone IQFeed tomorrow and get them to walk me through there troubleshooting apps.

Thanks for your input...

I have got the same problem on a rather old PC though, QT can get very slow especially if I let it idle all day. That's with aboutr 20 mini charts spread on several monitors . The more symbols you have updating in RT in your portoflio, the bigger the charts the slower in my experience. QT defintely got much slower about a year and a half ago with IB .

I am also having intermittent problems with IB backfill recently , anyone has had the same experience? Is it because I upgraded to the new TWS ? It wouldn't surprise me.
I make a habit of clearing all intraday data of any charts that I am finished with to prevent data bloat in the QT program. But like I said before, computing power is not the problem.

Thanks for sharing (sorry - I can't help you with your IB problem).

Publicly I would like to thank Jerry at QT for the attention he has given my problem (he is currently attempting to recreate the problem from files I provided him). In my experience over the years he and Robert at ButtonTrader have given me better responses to my program problems than any others I have ever dealt with.

Have you run a Memory Check program to be sure all is OK with your memory. I use MemTest86 but I'm sure others are available. It isn't free ($13.95 including shipping for the CD) but not exactly big ticket. Just a thought.

No I have not checked to see if the memory is working properly. Maybe I should...

Thanks...

Farting around with these Mickey Mouse platforms is a distraction. Serious intra day traders use reliable platforms that work. This allows them to focus focus focus.

If you’re an investor with a long time frame, are don’t trade size these platform are just fine. I’m not knocking it.

Listen - I am sorry you were born with a little one and try to make up for it by putting down others. Nevertheless...

Get lost troll.

I never put anybody down. I was just making a point, when you use free software don't expect to much.

I remember I had a problem once with QT on my old PC and what fixed it (strangely) was to use the full version. Maybe it was the adds in the free version, I'm not sure.

I don't use QT anymore but in my opinion it's not the trading platform that makes the trader :)

Also, QT has a very fast and effective tech support, better than any other trading software I have used and I have used a lot.

I don't use the free version, so ads aren't the problem.
