Questions About Being A Trader

What's troublesome to me and most of the others who are lambasting you is the blatant pride you take in being lazy. If you were representative of your entire generation then we could all work a fraction of what we do each week because that would still be 100x more than what you seemingly do yourself.

The reality is, that isn't the case at all - and you'll be left in the dust if you don't change that about yourself. I'm 31, FWIW.

Incorrect. The proper way to learn how to trade is to lose real money in the real market. Observing and paper trading etc are wastes of time.

That really depends on the person doing it, if you put forth same thoughts and passion as you would in real time, you will get feedback of possibility. I have often used sim trading myself to test theory if something would work profitable in high speed time areas, some ideas just can't be back tested well enough. Think it just come down to the person and who might be guiding them along as well. If you don't have passion in your what you do, then it is work.

Trading does not pay well for 99% of traders. Quite the opposite. The odds are against you. I would choose something else. And 99% of the traders who say they do make money trading have selective memory and do not 'count' their former massive losses because they don't 'trade like that anymore'.

My niece’s husband sounds somewhat like you. Lazy, “C” student at best. But while many students were working for a grade, he sat back and developed perspective and common sense (which a lot of “A” students do not have). You may be that way also, you seem to know yourself and you are asking questions.

My nieces’ husband… when kid’s started coming along… applied his common sense, is now busy in a somewhat less lazy way, and is doing quite well.

You may find an elegant way to trade. DB’s approach might be called that. It may fit your definition of lazy? Lazy in the sense of more work up front and then not as much later? The way Gringo trades might be an example (no offense to Gringo!) Depends on what common sense and laziness are to you.

Probably he was not that interested in the accounting major, and honestly accounting is quite boring as a major and is not intellectually challenging as well. Pay is also moderate, not as good as those computer/engineering college graduates that earn around 100K right out of colleges in the west coast (California).
