Question for ET Landlords

Your probably one of those idiots that think Doctors should work for free...

Capitalism is the grease that lets the wheel turn...the statement below is not what this country is built upon...your not talking about Democracy...your talking about Socialism...and we all know that Socialism is more of a failure, than Capitalism.

Besides it's not even the government, it's the municipality. In essence the residents of the town got together and decided that they don't want skyrocketing rent prices in THEIR town. Landlords may take it or leave it. Democracy in action, what's wrong with that?

socialism:

I do understand. I lived in Sweden for 6 years. Have you lived in Socialism?...I think not...

Wifey is Swedish...I have a RIGHT to speak about this...Most Americans (which I am one) have been brainwashed to think that everybody wants to be an American if they're not.

I for one... went to Europe and lived there as a resident...I HAVE A RIGHT TO MY OPINION. Where many here have never been outside of America and if they have, they have only been tourists...They are lucky to get outside of their hometowns!

I never said idiots are not allowed to live is Sweden. Your living in Sweden does not mean you know what you're talking about of you can ignore the definition of socialism I provided.
 
How many examples would you like to me to cite that proves you wrong about a Governments regulations not working in tandem with Socialism?

When you let the laws of supply and demand rein free and let investors have the hope of financial independence then you see a system that works the longest out of all the failing systems...they all fail eventually...read the Holy Bible.

What if theoretically the following experiment could be done to determine which system is better at bringing prosperity, Capitalism or Marxism:

Take a hypothetical nation with a political void needing to be filled. This nation has a large population, but the standard of living is unacceptably low. The nation needs significant infrastructure improvements and a jump start to its economy. The problems are pretty much spread out evenly across the nation; no one sector is doing much better than any other. Basically the entire place needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

Now, split the country in two. In sector A, implement American style capitalism. Let corporations form, and conduct business with the absolute minimum of government interference. Free trade and private ownership of property is strongly encouraged by the government. It's every man for himself, and if you can't keep up with the rat race, you just may find yourself living in a cardboard box, as the government won't even guarantee your basic human needs.

In sector B, implement the Marxist Red wet dream. Have the government impose strict egalitarian policies. Never allow the greedy capitalists to make fortunes off the sweat of the little people. In sector B, no one would ever become homeless or hungry because the government guarantees acceptable and equal living conditions for all it's citizens. Even free health care and secure employment are guaranteed. Sector B citizens are fortunate not to have to worry about much of anything, as the government will always be there to provide for them.

Fast forward 40 years. Which sector has a higher standard of living? Where has prosperity bloomed? Which citizens are envious of those in the other sector?

Now, what if I told you that this 'hypothetical' experiment isn't merely theory after all. What if I told you that all this actually happened...

Sweden was just one example that I used...The bigger issue is the point...

Sweden has long term unemployment problems, as with ALL the other Socialist countries...

But Sweden is the lesser of the evils, because of good managment...Sweden is like a player in the Chess game with the longest views.

The quality of people that come out of Sweden is fascinating...for the size of country it is...Xray, cancer reseach, Dental implant technology, Abba, Roxette and the Ace of Base...let alone Saab and Volvo...25% of all multi-national conglomerates were founded by the Swedish...

ohh...I could give you guys much more about this...but I am borderlining fanaticism...:)

Rent control and Doctors working for free is not the answer...

It's better to give an illusion of freedom to the masses, rather than the supression of financial freedom to equal things out...(probably no ET'r will re-read this last sentence carefully)

You'd be surprised but the outcome will be exactly the same, the extremes do meet and Libertarianism is not any better than Marxism.

I am of course not talking about the kind of capitalism practiced today in this country, europe (including sweden) and a few other countries (Australia, Israel and Japan come to mind), I am talking about unbridled capitalism that liberatarians like you advocate, that existed in europe in the 19th century and in this country in the beginning of the 20th century. 95% of the population were dirt poor, working 14 hours a day, 6-7 days a week in terrible working conditions yet barely able to make the ends meet, children and women were also abused and exploited. What makes it any better than Marxism?
