Question about real-time quotes for DJIA, VIX etc

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and new to trading in general. I was looking for some cheap service that would allow me to receive streaming quotes for some basic indices. I don't even need the quotes for individual stocks right now. Some companies such as Yahoo offer it for less than $20/month, but I'm not sure if it comes with an API. I also tried to look into CBOE but got lost in their website. Could someone please give me some advice?

Interactive Brokers has an API and streaming real-time data.

You can also join the TWSAPI Yahoo group for sample programs that may help you get started quicker.

Also http://www.MBTrading.com has a pretty simple API with sample programs.
