Question about IPO first trading day at the open

Would you say it is difficult to obtain an IPO on its first trading day right at the open?

I am playing around with some things related to IPO's, and am asking from those a bit more experienced how difficult it would be to be filled for 100-500 shares of an IPO on its first trading day right at the open.

Most probably you meant at the price that they offer (initial public offering price) and I can say most of the time that possibility may be zero. For example FIT was offered at $22 but it never opened at $22 and lets say it opened at $27 and traded between $27 to $32 during the first day. You could have bought as many shares that you wanted at the open price (around $27)and not that the initial offering price of $22.

Are you asking if you can buy it at the IPO price or the open of trading on the NYSE or NASDAQ?

I am talking about the open of trading.

I understand the difference between initial offering prices and first day of trading prices. I also understand that is extremely difficult to obtain them at initial offering prices. So yes, I was referring to obtaining them within the first few seconds of first day of trading.

Then anyone can be included in the open.
