Question about IB margin

How fast does IB margin information gets updated? If I want to buy 20K worth of stock , but I only have 10K margin . If I sell something in my account , would i be able to buy right away , or I need to wait till next day , to see my account situation.

The margin information is updated in real time. The proceeds from your sale would be available immediately and can be reused unless you're subject to day trading limits.
