Would you take a job as an assistant to a Specialist on the floor of the AMEX?

What are your thoughts? Is it worth doing or is the AMEX a dying exchange and therefore not worth pursuing?

i think it's a great opportunity. from there to the NYSE eventually. if you don't want it - a ton of other people do.

Sure, take advantage of the opportunity...you can always use the experience, and it would look good on a resume.

Depends on your age and where you want to go.

If you are in your 20's and trying to get in the door to work for a trading firm, investment bank, etc. then, yeah, go for it.

If you are 50+ and just want to learn the ropes of trading, there are probably better, less hecktic ways.
