This is Max Haller. I head up the Private Client Group here at QAM. I have read these posts and it seems that while we have our cheerleaders and our naysayers, (surprise surprise), many of you could benefit from actually reading our prospectus and/or giving me a call and speaking with me or someone on my team.
For the record:
1. Maverick does not, nor has he ever, worked for Quadriga in any capacity.
2. We are a fully-systematic CTA. We don't "go discretionary"... ever.

Contrary to popular belief, our website is updated once a motnh with the closing NAV price. If you were to go to the website today, after clicking through the disclosure, the first thing that pops up on the homepage are these quotes, as of 6/30/04. The results end in February in the PROSPECTUS and BROCHURE becuase this is an SEC regulated product and, as such, we must reregister our d-doc every nine months. The last available data when we re-registered our 4/29 prospectus was through the end of February. Does this make sense?

I see what you mean. These are direct copy/ pastes from our brochure, (see brochure). We, being an NASD broker-dealer must file any changes to our website with the SEC. The lag time is such that it is impossible for us to update these numbers each month. You will also remember that the last incarnation of this prospectus/brochure/website only had performance through May 2003.

I get the update through 30 June just fine. Quadriga has a great web site.
I think what creates MUCH confusion is when the offered Quadriga Limited Partnership is referred to as a Hedge Fund, Managed Futures, or when Quadriga is referred to as a CTA.
As I understand Quadriga is registered with the CFTC as an Intorducing Broker and Commodity Pool Operator; and likely as a broker dealer with the SEC. But not as a CTA and not offering a Managed Futures program and not as a Hedgefund.
It might seem like splitting hairs, but these are defining regulatory definitions and do make a big difference for the investing public in differentiating an entity or product.
Or am I missing something?

That is good about Maverick, as it appears he cost you at least one client.
Max, what is the current return for the year for Quadriga A&B?
While the phrases "managed futures" and "CTA" are basically interchangeable. The word hedge fund implies a traditional Reg-D private placement. In the U.S., Quadriga's products are not referred to as hedge funds, although we do go l/s, charge fees based on performance and use leverage.
