Simple question about performance calculations here.
ie.
Fund A started beginning of 03' and had 100K in assets and turned that to 200K at 12/31/03.
At the end of Jan. 04' the fund is now up to 300K.
At the end of Feb. the fund lost 100K and is now back down to 200k.
So performance percentage wise goes..
03' yearly performance is 100%.
Jan 04' the fund did 50%.
Feb 04' the fund lost 100k and had a -33% drawdown?
So the Quad fund drawdown was -20% and thus lost 20% of assets from what it had at the beginning of the month?
Am I wrong anywhere here with my performance calculations?
I'm not sure where you are getting those numbers from. Are you using that 100k as a generic number for calculation? Quadriga did not double it's money in 2003. It did not have a 33% drawdown this year and the fund was not up 50% this year.
