Please do that. Send them to Max Haller. His number is 212-750-6300. Max knows me very very well. Tell him I said hi.
I have followed this thread for a while, and even posted once. I am a new investor because of this thread.
And, I don't care what the historical performance is, losing 20% in one month hurts.
That does not mean Quadriga will not have a killer year - I think they will!
That does not mean that I will not continue to invest in Quadriga - I will send in monthly!
That does not mean that I doubt Quadriga and their methods - I don't .
It just means 20% is a lot, regardless of historical performance. And, if the people who manage my money do not think it is a lot, I don't want them managing my money!
I have faith in the fund, and think it will post great results for the year. But, you are doing nothing more than making it sound like all partners belong to a cult.
People should be able to question, and make statements.
I don't have a problem with questions. I do have a problem with people coming on this thread stating the obvious. These people are trolls and their posts ultimately ruin threads. I am trying to keep the trolls out. Starting a thread asking why the market is down today is a troll thread. Get it?
I am holding this thread to higher standards. If anyone has a question, I don't have a problem with that. But stating the obvious that a 20% drawdown is painful is a useless statement. That's like me saying it sucks to lose 50% of your money. Of course it does. Do we really need to start a thread saying as much. Of course not.
I don't think any of the posts were from trolls, and I don't think anyone appointed you the keeper of this thread. You really need to step back and re-evaluate. This is just friendly advice. But, based on your responses to posts thus far, I doubt you will take it.
As Kernan pointed out, it is you that turned the 20% into a bigger deal than it actually was.
I appreciate your knowledge and hope you continue to post to this thread (not yours) even though I think you have grown hard-hearted, harsh and abrupt with your short-sighted judgmental attitude.

Traders are like a cult of people, and I find them to be rude and abrupt and many are from Chicago or New York. It's a way of survival.

Simple question about performance calculations here.
ie.
Fund A started beginning of 03' and had 100K in assets and turned that to 200K at 12/31/03.
At the end of Jan. 04' the fund is now up to 300K.
At the end of Feb. the fund lost 100K and is now back down to 200k.
So performance percentage wise goes..
03' yearly performance is 100%.
Jan 04' the fund did 50%.
Feb 04' the fund lost 100k and had a -33% drawdown?
So the Quad fund drawdown was -20% and thus lost 20% of assets from what it had at the beginning of the month?
Am I wrong anywhere here with my performance calculations?
