Quadriga Superfund - Managed Futures

a piece of JWH letter to investors, explaining why trend following is not working:

<i>"The John W. Henry & Company, Inc. (JWH) investment programs all ended the year with negative returns. The combination of historically low and damaging spikes in volatility, produced a poor environment for JWH’s trading system.

However, currency markets as representedby the euro below, were plagued by investors“overreacting” to economic data and central bank statements as a lack of sustained volatility kept traders and therefore markets in search of emerging trends.

While the value of the euro did strengthen against the U.S. dollar, the trend began with a damaging reversal. ( i love this one, a damaging reversal)

This provides an excellent example of how restrictive ranges and spikes in volatility combined to result in an uncharacteristic performance year for JWH programs."</i>

Shouldn't the smaller fund not perform a lot better? Superfund rip people off and blame the lame performance on deteriorating market conditions. There are a number of funds there twice or triple the size that defy their explanation.

Obviously Superfund make enough on the insane roundtrip fees and 5% annual base commission they stopped caring about actual trading results.

Oh and they have to market their Formula 1 race driving garbage, also takes up brain power. :p

Smaller fund? Quadriga has 2 billion AUM. Not that small. LOL

I look at Average Drawdown/Profit, Time to Recover, Sharpe Ratio and Equity Curves.

Call it data mining, but I put my money into MAN AHL, Winton and Tulip Trend and NOT into a 4 year sideways churning Superfund.

Good luck.

Why don't you put your money behind yourself!!!! What's wrong? Why do you have to let others trade your money? :p

Can they turn those Oil Tanker funds around sharply? Doubt it! :p

I know I know, it is nothing a lemming like yourself could easily grasp.

Huh? Just admit that you can't trade and move on. Seriously, there is nothing wrong with letting others do for you what you can't do for yourself. :D
