quad video cards - 4 monitors

What video cards actually allows you to have 4 individual screens
at once . Bought a used eyefinity card buy they only give 4X1 or 2X2
. And looking on ebay many of those dont do 4X4 displays . For around $150 what is available used out there . Only using it for trading no high quality graphics ?

beware dont buy eyefinity stuff it sucks!
 
What does that mean, "have 4 individual screens at once"?

4X4, isn't that 16 monitors? (you have 4X1 = 4 monitors, and 2X2 = 4 monitors).

Windows XP/7 "Extended Desktop" function allows the arrangement of monitors any way user chooses. The video card and its software should not "get in the way".

It uses it own software called cataylst control center . I tried once to run it with out their software and it didnt work . I will try again .

I understand Eyefinity was promoted as "multiple monitor for gamers". However, "multi-monitor" has never been ATI's forte. They've always been about gamer performance.. but either in single card or dual/crossfire.

Nvidia, however, has for decades had a line of multiple monitor, multiple video card platforms.

Years ago, I used ATI video cards. Then I changed to Matrox... then again changed to Nvidia NVS.

If you can't get Eyefinity to work for you as you wish, suggest selling the card and moving to Nvidia NVS in whatever configuration fits your mobo.

Be advised, however, that not all mobos (especially el-cheapos) will run a quad card.

What is an "el-cheapo" motherboard?

Computer bought new for around $399. Doesn't matter what brand or where you bought it. Estimate that about 80% of the desktop computers in the world have this mobo.... 1, PCIEx16, 1, PCIEx1, 2 or 3 PCIE slots + onboard video. This mobo costs about $20, regardless of the machine it's in.

In contrast... a QUALITY, workstation mobo cost is $160-$260+ when current technology.
