Good try. You're a faker. I spent 12 years designing software in Silicon Valley and no real software engineers use that term. Only IT guys talk that way. Are you an IT guy by any chance?

I agree, it's sad. And truth be told, all posturing and bullshit aside, they're people I've always respected too, and still do. I mean, seriously, anyone with the good taste to use Python as language of choice is all right. :) But I went back and looked at the thread last night because I was bummin' about how it all went, and I really can't take the blame for it. I was a unnecessarily harsh on fatrat but he was cool and I apologized for the error I made. Otherwise I really don't understand why prt and nononsense decided to tee off on me. Arrogant tone maybe? I'm not humble, that's for sure. But I'm generally right too, and this thread is no exception.

Oh well, chalk one up to experience. I gave as good as I got. :)

What did you contribute to this thread? Nothing, except for fanning up the flames a bit around the in this context absolutely irrelevant 'thread & fibre' (sic) clown act on the part of some hardened Python haters. If you want to show off your superior wisdom in these matters, I told you, go to the Python newsgroup. (Don't get mauled like a pedantic preschool kid if you don't find anything better)

I don't regret anything. I started this thread and I hope I got my point accross. In spite of your many posts, I still can't find anything that you contributed, except for some narcissistic whining. In fact, I consider the information I spread at ET about Python since about 18 months now, as my humble contribution to ET. Over this period I learned that criticism is never tempered by ignorance - nay the ignorant seem to flame the most.
