Putin Vs Obama

I take it that the realities to geo-politicial confrontations is not your area of specialty.
Neither is it yours.

But I was just trying to debunk the idea that putin's muscles were enough to overcome the realities of "geopolitical confrontations".
:D

We could easily kick their ass. The American public simply lacks the will. As does the Russian public.

So Russian shoot down an airliner that originated from a Nato country? Obama said it will not be tolerated. Guess what, Obama tolerated it.

The Russians take over Crimea, Obama made a bunch of bold statements and backed it with nothing.

Russians tell the US to get out of Syria, Obama gets out of Syria.

Lets not forget.

During the presidential debate on Monday evening, President Barack Obama deployed a Seinfeldian zinger to mock former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential nominee. Romney had said that al Qaeda and other terrorist groups are “rushing in” as revolutions shake up the Muslim world.

“Gov. Romney, I'm glad that you recognize that al Qaeda is a threat,” Obama said, “because a few months ago when you were asked what's the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said Russia.”

“The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because the Cold War's been over for 20 years,” Obama said.

The riff recalled a famous episode the Seinfeld sitcom in which the character George Costanza thinks of a comeback long after a co-worker had humiliated him by saying the ocean had called to complain that it was running out of shrimp.

To some observers, Obama’s lackluster performance in the first presidential debate in Colorado several weeks ago, followed by a series of new arguments during a rally the next day, seemed reminiscent of Costanza’s “Jerk Store” comeback.

On Monday, Obama accused Romney of importing different parts of his agenda from other decades, in addition to the 1980s.

“Governor, when it comes to our foreign policy, you seem to want to import the foreign policies of the 1980s, just like the social policies of the 1950s, and the economic policies of the 1920s,” Obama said.

“You say that you're not interested in duplicating what happened in Iraq, but just a few weeks ago you said you think we should have more troops in Iraq right now. And the challenge we have –- I know you haven't been in a position to actually execute foreign policy, but every time you've offered an opinion, you've been wrong.”

Romney actually was wrong and Obama at least half right. Russia is no threat to us or our vital interests. They however see us as a threat, adn who could blame them. We have John McCain and the CIA fomenting a coup of the pro Russian elected leader of Ukraine. How would we react if Putin backed a coup in mexico?

Now Syria. The legitimate government of Syria invited the Russians in. What is our possible ground for intervening? That obama thinks putin is a big meanie? The way I see it, Putin is doing us a favor by attacking and likely destroying ISIS. Ending the Syrian conflict will also ease the refugee crisis. No doubt Obama will be ticked off if he can't bring in a few million more muslims, but there's always afghanistan.

We could easily kick their ass. The American public simply lacks the will. As does the Russian public.

But it is cheering to know that no matter how much a guy like wildchild chose to build himself up, perhaps even using steroids to make himself "hooj", so he could be like his manlove, putin, he could be destroyed in an instant by any pencilneck with a revolver.
:D

Ok, hold on a second. I agree that a non-nuclear confrontation would see us triumph. The problem is how you can keep it from escalating.

Secondly, while the American public lacks the will, the Russian public does not and would readily enlist to defend the rodina, should propaganda convince them it was necessary.
