Putin Vs Obama

Is it any wonder that this Putin is pushing Obama around?

Yes, it will still have a large navy after every last russkie sailor is feeding the fish.

Do not confuse the size of a navy with the ability to execute a mission in an area where the opposition (Russia) holds land-based air superiority.

We could easily kick their ass. The American public simply lacks the will. As does the Russian public.

But it is cheering to know that no matter how much a guy like wildchild chose to build himself up, perhaps even using steroids to make himself "hooj", so he could be like his manlove, putin, he could be destroyed in an instant by any pencilneck with a revolver.
:D

Reality check time - if the U.S. wants to militarily counter Russia's move to enter Syria and enter direct conflict to remove their forces then we will need land-based air assets to execute the mission. A carrier force in the Med is a sitting duck.

Which local country is going to provide the U.S. with an aircraft base. Turkey? Already rejected us. Israel? Not going to happen. Lebanon? Heck no. Egypt? I think not. Jordan? That will liven up the region. Iraq? They will not allow the U.S. to attack Russian forces from their bases.

Bottom line: By being invited in by the Syrian government, the Russian forces now hold the edge in the conflict, and it is very difficult for the U.S. to adopt a military option to expel them.

To really understand what I'm getting at, take a look at this photo. It's about (adjusting for range) what just about any American with a rifle, and there are a LOT more of us than the russkies, could do to putin with a modest shot, say 75 yards with a 30.06.

Warning, you cannot unsee this. Don't follow if you're faint of heart.

Putin's head after ordinary American with rifle takes him out

Poor putin, all those manly man muscles wasted.
; )

I take it that the realities to geo-politicial confrontations is not your area of specialty.
