Putin touts downfall of US as a global leader: ‘It’s almost done’

With Obama there was a sense of stability, power was often obtained through things NOT said, unlike now where Trump is almost like a little girl chirping all the time. Trump does not understand that silence can be powerful, seems like his daddy never explained this concept to him.

Yeah Obama sent that well when he set a red line in Syria then did nothing. Everyone understood the silence.

When Putin invaded Crimea, Obama once again sat silence.

I am missing the part where it is supposed to be powerful.

When it came to sowing racial division, Obama was all talk on that. He loved it and felt empowered.

He was a disgrace. Lets stop revising history and pretending he wasn't.

It's better to underreact than to overreact.

You think Trump would've done anything when Russia invaded Crimea? He would've said "I put America number 1" and that is that, nothing else.
Or you think he would've gone to war with Russia near their border? You're naive beyond belief if you think that.

The racial division stuff is an internal matter and it's the only area where the right wing has some good points to make. But the truth is somewhere between the left and the right.

Its better to have a cohesive strategy. I have no evidence that Obama ever had one. He referred to Russia as a regional power and ISIS as the JV team. His foreign policies were disasters, his domestic policies were not much better.

I know the left wing position is to say Trump is dumb, how did that work out in 2016? The opposing side should not understand your strategy, until it is too late.

This image (and the cropped close-ups below) show Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin just prior to beginning their joint press conference during last week's Helsinki Summit.

It is only an instant in time - but from a nonverbal perspective, it's very telling (see below for other, more comprehensive analyses of this same presser).

Look at the overall posture of each man. Putin's spine is upright - perpendicular to the floor with his shoulders relaxed and squared. Holding notes, his hands and arms are flexed with mild activity. His body looks relaxed, ready, and confident.

President Trump is in the midst of stepping - so this is not entirely an apples-to-apples comparison - however, his shoulders are hunched with his torso leaning forward - while his neck is also foreshortened. This makes him look weak - like he doesn't really want to be there. His arms should not be resting at his sides in this moment - for it gives him the appearance of an enlisted man, standing at attention (or a subordinate facing reprimand).

Trump also forgot to button his suit-jacket (or prefers it). In this setting, such casualness elevates President Putin (making him look athletic, classy, and assertive) and diminishes President Trump. It also accentuates their age difference (the Russian is 65 and the American is 72).

Putin's posture projects health, vigor, and dominance - while Trump's configuration conveys a tired, stressed, and submissive emotional tone.

SUMMARY: Trump's nonverbal behavior in this pre-presser moment is worried, tired, and subservient - while Putin is confident, relaxed, and dominant. Vladimir Putin looks like he wrote the script - while Donald Trump looks worried, shell-shocked, acquiescing - as if he's trying to remember his lines.

Lets see what President Trump does.

Yes, let's pretend Trump and company are strategic masterminds and weren't helped by the need of general public in US wanting drama in politics.

When you don't know what you're doing, it's best NOT to make a decision. Only imbeciles make decisions without solid basis.

Trump's foreign policy of "don't trust me, what I say or what I do, you're all my enemies" will surely end well...

Putin touts downfall of US as a global leader: ‘It’s almost done’

Putin used his annual public address to celebrate America's fading global influence under the Trump administration.

In his annual public address before the nation, Russian President Vladimir Putin proclaimed that America’s global influence has come to end — a development he attributed in large part to Trump’s presidency.

Speaking about the position of the U.S. on the global stage, Putin celebrated the waning influence of what he described as America’s “monopoly” on power, saying it would give Russia the ability to exert more influence in the world.

“Empires often think they can make some little mistakes. Because they’re so powerful,” Putin said, according to the Financial Times. ”But when the number of these mistakes keeps growing, it reaches a level they cannot sustain.”

He admonished the U.S. for having a “sense of impunity,” saying, “This is the result of the monopoly from a unipolar world.”

“Luckily this monopoly is disappearing,” he added. “It’s almost done.”

And Russia’s time has come, he said, claiming that America’s downfall meant that Russia had an opportunity to establish itself as a major player on the global stage.

As the Financial Times described, “Putin continually returned to the idea that US hegemony was the cause of many global ills — but that its twilight offered opportunities for Russia and its friends.”

Putin also noted that since Trump took office, punitive actions in response to Russian aggression in Ukraine and Syria had lessened in severity and were no longer having the impact they once did.

He hit back at media reports describing his relationship with Trump as poor, noting that Trump listens to what he says, and that he wants a better relationship with Russia.

While Putin’s remarks were clearly designed to bolster Russia’s national image, much of what he said is, unfortunately, true.

Under Trump’s leadership, global opinions of the U.S. have soured and ratings of America have plummeted around the world. Within a year of Trump taking office, global approval of U.S. leadership had already plunged 18 points, with more people approving of China’s leadership than America’s.

It’s not hard to see why, either. Trump has consistently failed to stand up for American values, choosing instead to take positions that are more in line with dictatorships and rogue nations than democracies. At the same time, he has made a habit of cozying up to actual dictators like Putin, Kim Jong Un, and most recently, the brutally oppressive Saudi royal family.

No one could happier about all of this Putin, and it’s never been clearer than it is now.

These pictures really tell the story. Trump really looks like an old man and not in the sense of wisdom and experience.
