WASHINGTON - A Pentagon panel has outlined three basic options for improving the situation in Iraq -- pull out, send more U.S. troops or reduce the size of the force but stay longer, The Washington Post reported on Monday. The group was likely to recommend a combination of a small short-term increase of U.S. troops and long-term training for Iraqi forces, the newspaper reported, citing senior defense officials. The options have been dubbed "Go Home," "Go Big" and "Go Longer" by insiders.

Give them a break. These guys have been trained to fight a war on a battlefield against opposition forces. Our wise leaders have been the ones to ask them to do something entirely out of character with their training and basic nature. Now we have imbeciles saying " Let the military do its job", etc. Duh! Hellooooo! They can't do their job! There is no defineable opposition force. They are doing the best they can in a ridiculous situation. A good parallel would be if we traders were grouped together to solve the spread of e-coli through the food chain. After all we buy and sell live cattle. right?
 
Claywilk, if your on topic, the pentagon knows shit about anything, never did, their the "intelligence" that dictates terms to the guy on the ground, right?
This is a function of bureacracy, and i dont see how, on any occasion they have come up with the goods......
Beyond what they were TOLD to provide.
