just curious... trying to create a daytrading strategy from these answers.
There are instances, where a stock will just shatter their 52 week/low intraday, and there will be those that will completely reverse.
I was thinking of buying/shorting at these extremes and have stop losses if the stock doesn't continue pushing new highs/lows. [/QUOTE
"Trying to create a daytrading strategy..." well thats always a good reason for a question.

I happen to trade primarily using a 52-week low shorting strategy and will do my best to answer any questions I can for you.
Keep this in mind... in a market like we are in now, where stocks have been beaten down, there are many stocks that fall into the 52-week low category that truly are cheap. Hence, you can get burnt shorting them even on weak days. It doesn't take long for people to catch on to a stock that doesn't belong where it is.
Good trading,
