Youhave to admire Obama's sheer audacity, to use his favorite word. Create an enormous crisis, then demand $4 billion to fix it, all the while ignoring established laws and doing whatever you want. For all congress knows, he will use the money to bring in more illegals.

The NYT article says a lot of the money is to go to latin american countries to help them stem poverty and violence. So Obama wants the taxpayers to reward these countries for sending people here. That'll show 'em.

Congress should do two things. One, change the law so that no one can enter the country claiming refugee status. We can treat war zones, etc on a case by case basis with legislation, since Obama has shown himself incapable of administering the current system. As part of that, mandate that the current crop of illegals be kept under lock and key until they can be deported. No more dispersing them around the country.

Two, deduct the additional cost of this invasion from foreign aid to latim america, UN funding, etc. if that is inadequate, cut it from Justice , IRS and Homeland Security. Obama created this problem, not the American people. Let hm pay for it.

Congress must also use its budget leverage to force Obama to put the National Guard on the border and seal it tight. No more BS about immigration "reform" being necessary to get border security. Obama is failing to exercise the most basic responsibility oif the Commander in Chief, namely secure the country's borders.
 
The next step of the invasion is now playing out. They're no longer illegal aliens, or even the made up term of undocumented citizen. Now they're refugees according to the UN and the usual suspects of the radical left. Make no mistake, this is well thought out and if this Orwellian Newspeak is allowed to go unchecked the new classification is a game changer. Refugees have rights that illegals don't. If we are to obey international law and U.S law then we MUST take them in should they be designated as refugees. Don't think that Dear leader and his leftist horde are unaware of this fact. The entire episode that is occurring is the next logical step taken by the left to eliminate our border. They have no interest in securing the border and the goal is to have every single human being be declared an American citizen just for the asking. Eventually they won't even have to be on U.S. soil. Just declare yourself a citizen, and viola, you are.

According to Byron York of the Washington Examiner, DHS will be requesting $1.5 billion fron Congress - $433 million for the Border Patrol and $1.1 billion "for operational costs to include care, bedding, and transportation costs of unaccompanied family groups." So instead of deporting them, we will be providing care for them.

Obama knows fully what's going on, and is clearly giving Americans the middle finger.

Things have sure changed. If I recall, Holder was deputy AG back when this occurred. Guess he's OK with illegals now.
