But less jokingly, do you have a smartphone? Some brokers have apps that you can use to place trades via your phone.

thanks everyone for your replies

the scenario isn't one I have to live with, the closest I've come is a neighbor who
had grandchildren that repeatedly fu her computer including downloading viruses
otherwise I've no experience with kids and computers

I was asking my question for a project I'm working on, sort of covering the bases
if for whatever reason even a very cheap second computer wasn't a possibility
but based on what you've said, I think TrueCrypt with a partition would do the job
wouldn't it ?
