I stated earlier that this trial could go either way.... and there was an increasing likelihood he will be cleared. I am still surprised that the jury did not convict Rittenhouse on some of the "lessor" charges. From the media I read... it was becoming more clear each day that the case did not seem to be doing well for prosecution as the trial moved along.
The kid held himself well during the trial especially when he was on the stand. In fact, he had excellent memory retention of the details of that tragic night.
The only flaw (not really one) was when he lied that he was an EMT but that's not a crime.
Yet, the prosecution jumped all over it as if it was a big deal because he only had "training". In fact, it's not normal for someone in the situation to take the stand...
That kid did well to explain why his life was in danger that night in which he needed to use deadly force until there was no longer a threat.
The video doesn't lie...he was being "chased"...he fell...several individuals charged him...one had a handgun...another had a skateboard.
Earlier, the first shooting of Rosenbaum, the guy was chasing him while threatening to kill him...all of this happening to someone without any military training in combat situation. That's exactly what the kid went through.
Without that video, I think there would have been a different outcome of the trial.
The good thing...its now all behind him and it can
not be appealed.
P.S. The kid almost collapsed (actually he slumped down on the desk) when his verdict was read...
each count NOT GUILTY. Shaking during the read of each count verdict. That's the emotional toll the court case takes on someone.
