Proprietary traiding

Does anyone know anything about such thing? What's their goal? Does it make any sence to enter such a company in order to get some experience in trading? Or it's just time wasting?

What do you trade (firstly I'm interested in stocks and options)? What are you restrictions (for example, you cant leave during some time, etc.)? Do they have a good teaching program? What company (if you can tell please via private message)?
Really appreciate your reply. I'm thinking about joining such a company and gaining some experience, but have no idea which company to join.
