Correct. Being wealthy in DC doesn't mean jack; it's the power and a four term Senator has got plenty of it.

Basically it was there to learn during the Carter years; an administration that had no idea how the political game works in Washington.

A. Maybe the vending machines? Security however, is ultimately under the the control of, and repsonsibility of the FAA and DOT guidelines. So the question was obviously rhetorical.

Therefore, the responsibility for the lack of security was on the DOT and the FAA for not having stricter guidelines.
