Prop shops and health insurance

How do you discretionary prop shop guys pay for health insurance? Does a place like Bright or Echo (or whatever) provide some sort of group plan you can pay into (full price), even if you are remote? What about pre-existing conditions?

No, they are set up as an LLC and you are a class b member and do not have employee benefits. You need to get your insurance on your own.

How do traders get insurance? Through their wives, or call a health insurance provider.

Why on earth would you want to pay into a group health plan? Unless you are a walking healthcare timebomb there are really no benefits to a group plan.
