Prop Firms in/around Vancouver BC.

broker-dealer firm

and i'm taking the CSC as well, its part of my diploma, plus it breaks the ground on getting other designations. however you wont learn anything from trading from CSC or anything CSI has to offer... maybe its 'trading course' but who knows.

The csi trader training course doesn't teach you to trade either - its a regulatory course. You need the TTC to register as a trader (sell side execution/sales or rdt/specialist) with a Canadian Broker/Dealer. Wouldn't recommend taking it until needed.

Unfortunately I think the only csi course that would actually teach any 'shorter term trading' techniques is the Technical Analysis Course - but haven't taken it so don't really have an opinion. Most their courses for investing deal with longer term investment/portfolio management.

Quote from jj90:

Swifttrade Vancouver (Pinnacle) is shut down indefinetly. Although Pinnacle got off swift's system 6 months before the shut down.

Title Vancouver seems to be operating in a limited capacity, but it appears to be a new startup, and info is hard to get.

I've heard of title offering remote, but rarely. WTS can offer remote but it's based back east. There are traders in vancouver trading under the WTS umbrella.

As mentioned, Bright requires initial deposit. While the others don't except for WTS which has the option I believe of deposit or non deposit.

I would suggest to contact the firms directly for payout structure etc.

What happened to Swifttrade Vancouver? Why is it down? What are they doing now?

Spicy, would appreciate PM on any info about anything you can share. I'm van based as well.

sbn, I'm not at liberty to discuss the inner workings of what happened, but long story short, they switched to a new trading instrument that didn't pan out in the long run.

For all those who trade from Vancouver...I will be moving there later on the year from the US, I've been prop trading for 10 years and will like to know how is trading taxed in BC. Spicy, would you share any insights on this topic. I tried to PM you but it seems this feature has not been enabled on your profile.
