Proof TWS tick is broken for weeks and useless, misleading

IB tick & TD tick use a different internal calculation that causes discrepancies, so you can't except them to always be the same. Neither one is right or wrong . This has already been explained to you in thread, but you just can't seem to process it.

You're in error here -- the IB NYSE-TICK regrettably is glued to using MARK as its displayed TICK value. The closest-but-easily-available would be MID, but no. And of course, there is always direct calculation, but.... no. Anyway, you can see this if you put NYSE-TICK on a QuoteMonitor contract line, and put MARK and MID next to each other. Put up a graph, or put NYSE-TICK on your TraderDashboard, and you'll see what's up.

Freakin' sad.

error? who? I never said they didn't calc it differently.

not sure , no matter HOW diff it is, why some weeks its exactly the same and then it deviates. THAT makes no sense
 
Given that NYSE-TICK include securities that really should be ignored (preferreds, debt, double-count multiple classes, various exchange traded products etc), the utility of this indicator is questionable.
