Project 2025

@Tony Stark I was over at a friend's just now (the guy who is a professional progressive campaign organiser at state level) loaning him a Foreman grill and heard his plans to impress his date tonight is to "smush in pine nuts he brought with him" into the steak. He spends a few months a year here.

He would impress her more if he cleaned his apartment but apparently he has never learned how to use a manual mop and tried to Tom Sawyer me into showing him how (again) :) Nice try but I suggested he look it up on YouTube.

Apparently it's an early morning sun problem, not a dirt problem that matters tonight.

Progressives have a leadership problem.

You could have cleaned the place up for the guy, some friend you are:rolleyes:

If hes a Progressive you have to keep giving him fish.

This is the problem, he knows I'm actually very soft excepting momentary blow ups and he is taking advantage of that. But.. He speaks English and reads a lot, has an enormous breath of factual knowledge about various Marxist martyrs but I coined the term 'pseudopolitics' for myself recently talking to him.

A bit like talking to a libertarian, except for the minor detail of it won't work because that's not how most people actually are, his politics sound plausible..

Intelligent but lazy. Just like General Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord's officers he rose to the top. A few more intelligent and hard working would be good to see.

Sometimes @Cuddles I think that Biden is a bit like poor Frank Dreben here, well except the movie is "The Naked Son". :)

There's only so much you can expect when dealing with Trump's mobster politics in parallel?

Not about Tony but in general.

It is depressing how crisply and mechanically the right weaponise ideas. Their messaging tighter, websites that actually work... Just this morning I was noticing again how Huffpost does not function on my android tablet*. Been years and it still has scripts that stall it. Won't see right wing sites with such basic issues.

Traditional thinkers may not be the brightest lights but they don't let committees mess details up nearly as much. I have a similar complaint about Colombians, in groups much becomes "somebody else's responsibility" that never lands and nobody does anything.

*janky on my phone too and that's a flagship Samsung but brute power seems to help it.

That's a funding problem. Billionaires throw money at every right wing grifter. No one will throw money at lefties that challenge the status quo, it's against the monied self interest.

I look back at David Pakman (lefty) starting about a decade ago and mopping the floor w/a green Shapiro in a debate who followed him 2 yrs or so later into youtube punditry. Shapiro's on his way to Murdoch-esque empire while Pakman's seen moderate success. Same deal w/Crowder, Sam Seder giving much larger now (I abandoned the left griter) Tim Pool his start, same with TYT platforming Dave Rubin & Jimmy Dore (abandoning left grift) successes.

Thiel et.al. will throw millions at any "i'm a lefty but really push every righty talking point and this is why democrats suck" asshole.

to a degree, sure, Trump's mobster wannabe idiocy dampens its successes. Problem is any smart asshole that sux up to him can get into the admin and make a mess of things (Bannon, Miller, DeSantis, etc..),. Hanlon's razor is still sharp.

Pakman went through a weird patch recently (not just his various attempts at facial hair) where the right went after his sponsors and he was literally packing up his little studio and was very dispirited. He seems to have made it through that which I'm glad to see.

Shapiro.. Jesus he is a lightweight in comparison but his sister has enormous tits and that seems to be enough to keep the right fascinated.

I agree money matters. I've worked for an expensive IT consultancy who were brought in where the businesses own IT guys were out of their depth and this was often down to interpersonal dysfunction (Bernie telling Warren a woman couldn't win 2020) and my job was as much meeting psychotherapist as problem solver and woods-for-the-trees-chopper-downer.

Maybe these far left groups need expensive outsiders there for limited engagements to move things along and pull things back from the blame game.. But people at this level are not cheap. Banks headhunt socially competent quantum physicists to help them with their sinister objectives. It's a good way for these guys to make money for a few years if they are starting a family and such.

Who I wonder is a good skillset to make the Progs work?
