While y’all worry about progressive stupidity that has zero impact on people’s lives conservative stupidity is causing OBGYN doctors to flee red states, closing baby wards in areas already lacking enough healthcare. Case in point, Alabama, a state with a 3rd world level infant mortality rate is losing 3 wards in a matter weeks with, as @TreeFrogTrader likes to say, more to come.

I often talk about right and wrong or good or bad and how is the best way to figure which is which. I think this is pretty cut and dry. Things like life and heath are good and things like illness and infant mortality are bad.

Again, the difference between liberal stupidity and conservative stupidity is stark. I reminded the the forum a week or so ago about the dangers of the evangelical movement controlling the Republican party’s political operations and agenda. And here we see the danger of such. The truth is the government was designed to protect your freedom of religion not for you to impose your religion on the rest of the country as Speaker Dick here claims.

In a first-of-its-kind federal grant to be distributed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, a branch of HHS, dozens of organizations across the country would be able to spend the money over three years on a preapproved list of resources, including referrals to treatment, infectious-disease testing kits, condoms, and vaccinations for hepatitis A and B.
Also on the list: “safe smoking kits.” Typically, such kits include a rubber mouthpiece to prevent cuts and burns, brass screens to filter contaminants and disinfectant wipes, according to Harm Reduction International.
